Okay, here's something... you remember how, in The Andy Griffith Show, the town of Mayberry was so peaceful, idyllic, and quiet? It just dawned on my why that was: nobody was married.

Think about it. Andy, Barney, Aunt Bee, Floyd, Howard, Gomer, Goober, Helen, Thelma Lou, Clara, Ernest T. Bass, the entire Darlin' family... they were all single.

The only married one of the bunch was Otis.

And he stayed drunk.
